Calibration Kit Composition:

The Pine GB1 Calibration Kit includes a Pine Force Calibration Kit, a Pine Height Tube, and an External Angle Calibration Kit.

Re-Certification Interval:

AASHTO R18 does not specify the re-certification interval for measurement standards.  Therefore, AASHTO follows the recommendation of the manufacturer, which is 12 months for the first calibration and 24 months thereafter for Pine Force Calibration Kits and 24 months for the Pine Height Tubes.

ISO 17025-Certified Calibration:

AASHTO R18-17 Section 6.2.1.5 requires measurement standards, which includes Pine Force Calibration Kits calibrated on or after April 13, 2017 to be calibrated by a laboratory that is ISO 17025-certified to calibrate the Force Calibration Kit according to ASTM E74.  The same AASHTO standard section requires Pine Height Tubes calibrated on or after January 1, 2018 to be calibrated by a laboratory that is ISO 17025-certified to calibrate the Height Tube dimension.  You may purchase AASHTO R18 from the AASHTO Bookstore.  You may acquire ASTM E74 from ASTM International.

Does the ISO 17025 Requirement Affect Your Calibration Kit?

The ISO 17025 Requirement applies to Pine Calibration Kits that meet ALL of the following requirements.

  1. The Force Calibration Kit calibration date is on or after April 13, 2017.
  2. The Height Tube calibration date is on or after January 1, 2018.
  3. You use the Calibration Kit to conduct an official calibration or standardization of your gyratory compactor.
